From the 2nd to the 4th of October, London’s Olympia stadium is given over to the country’s premier hospitality and catering related trade shows. Running simultaneously will be Catering Equipment Expo, the Restaurant Show, the Bar and Pub Show and the Conscious Hospitality Show.
We can expect the event to be as entertaining as it is informative, with inspiring presentations and discussions, competitions, celebrity appearances and demonstrations provided by some of the many hundreds of exhibitors. The October edition of Restaurant magazine will carry a 64 page guide to the event – which gives you an idea of its scale and variety.
Celebrity chefs expected include Daniel Galmiche, Stephen Harris of The Sportsman in Whitstable, Clare Smyth from Core in Notting Hill, Picture Restaurant’s Alan Christie and Patricia Michelson of La Fromagerie.
One competition, organised by the Conscious Hospitality Show, is The Great New Idea 2017, looking for innovative offerings with appeal to the more environmentally-conscious consumer, such as eco-friendly and energy-efficient products, green waste management services, organic and fairtrade produce, and sustainable furniture designs. Your imagination is the limit.
The competition is an opportunity for inventors, activists and entrepreneurs to push their great new ideas, products or services into the spotlight.
Another high profile event is the live final of The National Chef of the Year competition. The award opens many doors to success for the hard working and talented finalists.
The bill includes an exploration of Californian wines by Neil Phillips and advice on recession-proofing your wine list from Peter McCombie. Naturally, there is also a tasting area showcasing 700 wines – all new to the UK. Latest trends and fashions in food presentation will also be showcased, and no doubt eaten.
Well known brands like Falcon, Foster, Lincat, KitchenCraft, Winterhalter, Victor, Dalebrook, and Cambro will be in attendance to showcase their latest ranges. You can preview many of these offerings on the website of 24/7 Catering Supplies (247cateringsupplies.co.uk). Valuable advice on all kinds of appliances will be available, for back-of-house, front-of-house, tabletop and heavyweight.
Arrive early to take advantage of many show-only deals and special offers. There will be exclusive new product launches, technical demonstrations and valuable cost-saving seminars for all kinds of catering professionals.
